So How Do I Apply
Well first you need to qualify(as a Long Haul Truck Driver)
so let's take a look at the requirements, this is a very general list at the moment,
each Province will be covered in greater depth in future articles.

You must be able to demonstrate 6 months of work history in that Province. 6 мес ОТРАБОТАТЬ ПО LMIA
You must be doing the job as described on the LMIA, TWP and in your contract.
You must earn at least the amount stated on your contract. УКАЗАТЬ ЗАРАБОТОК
You must show the required (normally 3 months) worth of log books to prove you have been spending nights

You must produce Criminal Record Checks for every country you have lived in for more than 6 months since the age of 18.

Have a Letter Of Sponsorship from your employer ( Alberta Only )
Once you have that little lot you can either download the checklist and application forms from the Provincial PNP Office or get in touch with your friendly Immigration professional and make your Provincial application. At this point you are classed as an APPLICANT and the whole process is conducted at provincial level
С ЭТОГО МОМЕНТА ТВОЙ СТАТУС - ЗАЯВИТЕЛЬ-APPLICANT.
Once you have been approved by the Province then you are re-classed as a Provincial Nominee and your application is handed over to the Federal Government
ПОСЛЕ УТВЕРЖДЕНИЯ ТВОЙ СТАТУС - Provincial Nominee
Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) for secondary processing. At this point you still need a TWP but you no longer need an LMIA to obtain one. Also the 4 Year Rule no longer applies to you. At the time of writing, this process is taking approximately 4 to 8 months.
Nominees will be required to pass an Immigration medical. МЕДКОМИССИЯ - ОБЯЗАТЕЛЬНО
All members of the Immigration Group will be required to take the medicals. These MUST only be done once requested and only by nominated CIC appointed Physicians.

Now we play the "Waiting Game", you may get requests of extra information or documents at this stage, for example; if you have a criminal record you may get asked for "Court Notes"... or if you have been married before they may ask for Decree Absolutes. МОГУТ ПОТРЕБОВАТЬ ДОП ДОКи
Once CIC has done all their checks which could take a year or more they will request all of your passports. When your passports are return to you about a week or 2 weeks later they will all have an embossed visa in them.

This Embossed Visa is to get you back into Canada ONCE....... Because now you have to leave Canada and re-enter as a Permanent Resident. Most people live within a few hours drive of the American Border so you pack everyone in the car along with all of your paperwork (don't forget the Passports).

You will drive through the American side of the border and tell them that you are finalizing your PR application. They will direct you round the building [we call that "Going Round The Flagpole] and re-enter Canada on the Canadian side.

You will be invited into the building and your paperwork will be processed. You will be issued you Confirmation Of Permanent Residence and your PR Card will be ordered. This will normally take about 6 weeks to arrive, as a truck driver you will still be able to drive in and out of Canada for your work but you should wait until your card comes through before you make any out-of-country vacation plans.
