Hi Michael,

The Ministry has extended the validity of government driver, vehicle and carrier products and services that expired on or after March 1, 2020. These will continue to remain valid and legal past the expiry until further notice. This is in an effort to help keep people safe, reduce the need for in-person visits to ServiceOntario and stop the spread of COVID-19. For more information, please visit:

http://ontario.ca/extendedvalidity

Based on the advice of Ontario’s Chief Medical Officer of Health to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, all full-time DriveTest Centres and part-time Travel Point locations are closed as of March 23, 2020 until further notice. There is no set date for service resumption and we encourage you to visit https://drivetest.ca regularly for further updates.

Scheduled rod test appointments during the closure will be automatically cancelled without penalty. Please note that the automated booking system is now available to book appointments commencing June 1, 2020 onwards; however, bookings are subject to change/cancellation without penalty, if services do not resume by your appointment date.

If your driver’s licence expired and you were given a temporary driver’s licence to drive until the road test or your driver’s licence has been extended with the regulation, you will need to reschedule by calling one of the telephone numbers listed below to speak to an agent during business hours:

647-778-0331 or Toll-free: 1-888-570-6110

The government adopted a temporary regulation to respond to COVID-19 by extending the validity period of driver's licences that are set to expire while the temporary arrangement is in effect. The duration of the temporary arrangement is not certain at this time.

Drivers cannot complete training or testing during this period.  Please note that driver training is covered under the ministry policy relating to the COVID-19 situation.  Please contact the driving school once normal business resumes to discuss completing the training.
